HOLIDAYS…. FUN TIME…… PARTY TIME !!!!!
Hey kids ! Its break time again and we don’t want you to have anything but fun… fun… fun…
Here comes your way, a party!
Arrange a theme party for your friends.
(Theme can be of dressing up in a particular colour, as helpers, as celebrity, sports persons, fancy attires, wild, animals, jungle, hawaii, etc.)
Preparation time!
Make a list of number of invitees, food items to be served, games to be played, hours to be spent, etc.
Make this list on a drawing sheet.
Party time!
Sing and dance to Hindi and English hot numbers/songs.
Play games like word building, word chain, story building, housie/tambola,etc.
(Word Building: One word is given to the players and they keep making new words with the last letter of each word; Word Chain: Here 1 word is given and the players then keep adding other words to it, every time the next player says all the words spoken and adds his own word to the chain; Story Building: A starting sentence is given and children then keep adding sentences to it making a story.)
Be a photographer!

Capture the best shots of the party in your camera and then present these cute Kodak moments in an album, giving it a nice title.
Bring the list , the stories (English and Hindi) and the album to school after the break.
Keep practicing and revising all that is taught so that you are in touch with it once back in school.
HOLIDAY HOME WORK CLASS- II

1) Read at least one story in English and one in Hindi every week. Write one good thing you learnt from each story.(Fairy Tales, Panchtantra, Champak, etc.)
2) Make an indoor board game. Mention the rules of the game, number of players required, etc. Write it on a sheet of paper.
3) Watch M.A.D. (Pogo) and background science. Make one creative item and bring it to school.
4) Learn numbers 1 to 100 in Hindi.
5) Listen to news channels for at least 15 minutes and read two news from the newspaper daily.
HOLIDAY HOMEWORK CLASS III
READING IS FUN
TASK:
A). Pick a Story book of your choice and age group in ENGLISH
.[Enid Blyton, Ruskin Bond, Hans Christian Anderson or Rudyard Kipling]
1. Write synopsis(summary) of the story read.
2. Make a drawing of your favourite character.
3. Describe the character in few lines.
4. Prepare for oral presentation in the class.
B) Read the stories which are not part of your yearly syllabus.
BUDDING WRITERS
TASK:
1.Read any children’s Magazine like Children’s Digest, Health, Nandan or Champak
(IN HINDI)
2. Try & send your Articles/ stories/ poems/drawing to any of the children’s magazine.
3. Write a recipe of your favorite summer drink with proper measurement of its
ingredients.
FOOTNOTE: All written work should be done on an A4 size sheet and put in a folder.
A class competition of Articles/ stories/ poems/drawing will be held after the holidays

IN SUMMERS
1. INTO THE WORLD OF FASHION
a] Make a fashion magazine showing the different dresses worn by the people all over the world and in your country. Also find out the history of fashion. Make the magazine on A4 pages. You may use colored pages.
b] On a cut out, design your own costume using actual fabric.
2. FUN WITH NUMBERS:
a] List Out- Cut out the grocery list of the BIG BAZAAR in order to make up a list of foods that you would like to buy for your family for a week and also make a budget of a certain amount. Make a total bill for the groceries and see if the amount is more than your budget. If the total is more than your budget, decide if the list be cut down by a few items. Show your budgeted list on an A4 sheet.
b] Search for advertisements in the newspaper for an item you have been wanting to buy, such as a piece of clothing or tennis shoes. Find the other brands selling the same item and find the cost of them. Compare the prices of the item and find the best buy for yourself. Paste the advertisement and list down the cost found out for the item and state the best buy for yourself. [Use A4 sheet]
PARENT POINTER- These activities help children see how much math is used in everyday life.
3. BE A NEWS REPORTER
Follow instructions on sheet 1* and have fun being a news reporter.

FUN IN SUMMERS
1. FUN WITH NUMBERS:
Find out about the theme parks from the newspaper and magazines etc. Find the offers/ packages given by them.
Plan out a similar advertisement giving your theme park a name, offers and packages on a coloured A-4 sheet.
2. CREATE A COMIC STRIP
Follow instructions given on sheet 1* and enjoy creating your own comic strip.
Please Note: All your 6 panels should fit on 1 A4 sheet.
3. LAND OF STORY BOOKS:
Become an avid reader and fill in sheet 2* for your record
4.GLASS AFFAIR
Make a glass garden using a small glass container or drinking glass. Use charcoal, sand, soil, colored pebbles, manure and small indoor plants . Take care of your plant by watering it regularly.
5.CALENDAR MAKING
Make a A-4 size calendar of 12 pages using waste material
Each page should depict a theme . You can use, vegetable printing , leaf printing, paste leaves & flowers , so on ---------------------------------------------- the list is unlimited. Use your own imagination & create your own calendar
